Jennifer has worked on economic development and social impact initiatives with non-profit institutions, community groups, and public agencies in Chicago, Oakland, New Orleans, and Pittsburgh. A California native, Jennifer received her BA from the University of Chicago and a Master of City Planning from University of California, Berkeley. She resides with her husband, son, and mutt Max in Pittsburgh.
Medical mavens director
Jazzmyne, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is gearing up for medical school this Fall. She has her Masters in Biology from Roosevelt University. She works in clinical and translational diabetes research at the Kovler Diabetes Center. she is aware of the need for minorities and women in the medical sciences and the barriers that exist to succeed in academia. She looks forward to tackling these disparities and others with the Medical Mavens Pipeline Program.
Candace, a chicago native, received her Masters degree from Roosevelt University in Biotechnology and Chemical Science. Candace has overcome many personal, socio-economic and academic hardships making her aware of the need for African-American women physicians and barriers that need encountering to obtain success. She currently works at the University of Chicago Laboratory School in the Physical Sciences department.
Candace is gearing up for medical school in the fall of 2017.
